A little-noticed contributing factor to the foreclosure crisis is antiquated state foreclosure laws that push homeowners into complicated legal proceedings that lack basic due process protections. Modernization and improvement of state foreclosure laws can significantly help blunt the impact of the crisis on individual homeowners and communities.
